Joel Hayward
Name: Joel Stuart HaywardYear of Birth: 1965 Country of residence: New Zealand Since 1998, the New Zealander Joel Hayward has sought to distance himself from his earlier activities within the Holocaust denial movement; however, depsite his best efforts, his actions both before and since his attempts speak louder than his public rejections of Holocaust denial propaganda. Hayward's primary contribution to the Holocaust denial was a thesis that he submitted for a Masters degree at Canterbury University in New Zealand. Titled The Fate of Jews in German Hands: An Historical Enquiry into the Development and Significance of Holocaust Revisionism, Hayward argued that 'Holocaust revisionism' was not only a legitimate school of historical thought, it actually provided a far more accurate record of what did actually occur to European Jewry at the hands of National Socialist Germany. Indeed, in the conclusion of the thesis, Hayward stated that the gas chambers did not exist. Under somewhat dubious circumstances, which were not known until several years later, Hayward's thesis was awarded an 'A+' - the highest mark possible, and it was highly praised by its examiners. Hayward immediately placed an embargo on the work, which prevented anybody from accessing the document. |
